“Until now she has told me that although she appreciates that she was allowed access, it was partial and does not allow her to be completely convinced,” Manríquez told the local media upon arriving at the Third Guarantee Court of Santiago.
Until now, confirmation of genetic tests is awaited for the identification of the body, despite the fact that the Prosecutor’s Office reported last weekend that it is Ojeda.
Regarding the motivation that the kidnapping could have, Manríquez explained that “we have not ruled out any thesis”, since he considers it harmful to close oneself to a single explanation.
So far, there is only one detainee in this case, a 17-year-old Venezuelan teenager with an irregular immigration status. He will be charged with kidnapping and murder.
The professional added that a complaint was filed on behalf of the family, which was grouped with that filed by the Government.
““We hope to participate in the hearing that we know will be reserved and, therefore, subject to the extreme secrecy in which this investigation is being handled,” he added.
Regarding the same, he declared that “We are also going to have to keep the same in reserve, so that the efforts that are underway can bear fruit soon.”.
Along with this, he indicated that he requested a meeting with the Minister of the Interior, Carolina Tohá; and the national prosecutor, Ángel Valencia, to ask for greater protection for the family.
Finally, he indicated that he hopes that provisional hospitalization will be requested for the accused, the maximum precautionary measure for minors under 18 years of age.
