Rafael Nadal and Alexander Zverev cross into the round of 16 of the 1,000-point Madrid Masters, following winning in the round of 32.
World number four Rafael Nadal won his first match in the Rome Masters with a thousand points, and qualified for the round of 16 of the Masters Tournament, following beating American John Isner, 6-3 6-1, on Wednesday.
The defending champion Nadal decided the match in his favor following one hour and 17 minutes, as he seeks to achieve his 11th title in the Italian capital.
was Nadal quit the Madrid dirt championship following falling to compatriot Carlos Alcaraz who withdrew from the Rome Championship.

In another match, world number three Alexander Zverev overcame Argentine Sebastian Paez 7-6 (8-6) 6-3 to reach the same round.
The German, who lost to Alcaraz last Sunday in the Madrid Masters final, will next meet with Australian Alex de Minaur, who beat American Tommy Paul.
Zverev won the Rome Games in 2017, defeating Serbian Novak Djokovic in the final. The following year, he lost in the final once morest Nadal, who also knocked him out of the quarter-finals last year.
