Another evening of music, that of next Monday 26th August, in the Early Christian Basilica of Saints Vitalein via Nazionale, where the parish priest, don Elio Lopswill welcome “The young ambassadors of the European Mozartian ways”, the orchestra of the Mozarteum of SalzburgThe young musicians will be directed by the director Stefan David Hummel. «I am very happy to begin this special year, that of Jubileewith this beautiful music”, said Don Elio, satisfied with Monday’s initiative which will be held in collaboration with the Santa Cecilia Conservatory of Music.
The Basilica of Santi Vitale, the Roman seat of sacred music
The historic church of National Street it is often the scene of concerts, it was in fact chosen as the venue for sacred music and its dissemination. Monday’s concert – explains Don Elio – “is a beautiful occasion in view of the concert commitments that the basilica will make throughout the Jubilee year”.
Those who decide to attend the concert, which is free to enter, will be able to listen to pieces by Mozart, Handel and Halvorsen, Boccherini, Mercadante, Rabaud and Mascagni starting at 8:30 pm.
The “Beautiful Music” Project
A concert that is part of the project “Beautiful music“, born in 2011 with the aim of promoting and encouraging dialogue between young European talents, involving important music schools and musical institutions, from the Universität Mozarteum Salzburg and the Hochschule für Musik in Würzburg to the Società del Quartetto in Milan.
As young ambassadors of the European Mozart Ways, the musicians, who come from Italy, Germany, Ukraine and Austria, are planning an Italian tour that will touch upon the regions where Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart passed during his two journeys in 1769 and 1773.
