Romania has a trade deficit of 103.8 million euros with Russia. This is the data for the first half of 2023. If we compare it with the same period last year, the figure is much lower. It is more than 20 times less.

Let’s not forget that Russia started the war in Ukraine on February 24, 2022. So, various trades have been made by then. In addition, sanctions were phased in while trade continued.

What goods were sent to Russia in the first six months of 2023
Romania exported over 123.3 million euros worth of goods to Russia in the first half of the year. (As a comparison, in the first six months of 2022 it was regarding 243.7 million euros).
From the data sent by the INS, we note that Romanian companies sent, among others:
Hair care products worth 34.2 million euros
Sunflower seeds for almost 15 million euros
Medicines of 11.6 million euros
Motor vehicle parts and accessories of 7.45 million euros
Vacuum cleaners of 3.8 million euros
Refrigerators, freezers of 3.33 million euros
Agricultural machines, devices and devices of 3.3 million euros
What products did the Russians send us in the first part of the year
Russia sent products worth 227.1 million euros to Romania in the first 6 months of 2023, the amount being 90% lower.
I imported the most:
Oils from petroleum/bituminous minerals of 147.6 million euros.
Synthetic and factitious rubber derived from oils, in primary forms or in plates, sheets and strips of 27.1 million euros
Nitrogenous mineral or chemical fertilizers of 20.3 million euros
7.3 million euro aluminum wire
Mineral or chemical fertilizers containing two or three of the fertilizing elements nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium of 4.7 million euros
Hydrogen and rare gases of 2.2 million euros.
