Sanctioned for his links with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Roman Abramovich was forced to put the Chelsea club, which he had owned since 2003, up for sale.
This Wednesday, the Turkish newspaper Fanatik indeed reveals that Roman Abramovich would have started negotiations to buy the club of Göztepe, current 18th of the Turkish championship. The current owner Mehmet Sepil will throw in the towel at the end of the season and he therefore went in search of a buyer. A meeting between the two men should soon take place.
A member of UEFA but not of the European Union, which sanctioned it, Turkey represents the dream compromise for Abramovich who would have hidden his yacht on the banks of the Bosphorus in order to escape a possible seizure.
