Roly Serrano had a car accident on Sunday night and is currently hospitalized in the intensive care room and with respiratory assistance in a hospital in the town of Baradero, province of Buenos Aires. The accident occurred around 11 p.m., and according to information that emerged in local media, the actor rear-ended a car in which a family was traveling at kilometer 115 of National Route 9.

Jorge Alberto Gómez, his representative, confirmed to Teleshow that he accompanies the actor and is attentive to news regarding his health. He announced that in the next few hours he will release a medical report, while they wait for Roly to be transferred to the IMAC High Complexity Medical Institute, located on Díaz Vélez Avenue, in the Federal Capital.

“He is on an artificial respirator,” confirmed the businessman and maintained that the actor does not have “cuts” from the road accident. Meanwhile, he clarified that he requires assisted breathing “due to smoking and being overweight.”

Regarding the transfer, Gómez explained that it depends on the availability of an ambulance, given that the medical center where he is currently located does not have the necessary tools to carry out further studies. In addition, he said that the actor “is asleep” due to the medications that were given to him.

For his part, the Medical Director of the Baradero Municipal Hospital, Carlos Baliela, said that the artist entered the institution lucid, but that he decompensated as the minutes passed. After carrying out checks, the professionals who treated him in the emergency room determined that he should be transferred to the intensive care room and placed on an artificial respirator.

The professional explained that Serrano, who was driving a gray KIA truck, has “a chest trauma and a skull trauma,” and that he has “a reserved prognosis.” In addition, they are awaiting confirmation from the actor’s social work to transfer him to the City of Buenos Aires. “He is fit,” he said in dialogue with Tu Radio de Baradero.

On the other hand, Baliela reported that the family members who were traveling in the other vehicle involved remained under observation: they were a 35-year-old man and his six-year-old son. Both suffered minor injuries and might be discharged in the next few hours. “A 35-year-old man was admitted with a cut wound to the scalp. He is in transit with good progress. A 6-year-old boy is also under observation with facial trauma. At noon, both he and his father will be discharged,” the Medical Director of the Baradero Hospital had said this morning.

Regarding the car accident, Sebastián Rivadeneira, responsible for the Volunteer Firefighters team that intervened in the accident, indicated that “one vehicle was left on the road and another on the shoulder. Our job was to remove the batteries to avoid fires,” he said on FM Tiempo de Baradero. “The truck driven by actor Rolando Serrano had collided with the other vehicle. When we arrived they had already transferred all the occupants of the vehicles,” he explained in detail.
