Miami: Rohan Bopanna and Matthew Ebden, the first-ranked pair, entered the men’s doubles final of the Miami Open by winning in straight sets in the semi-finals. The Indian-Australian duo defeated the Spanish-Argentinian duo of Marcel Granollers and Horacio Ceballos in the semi-finals on Thursday night.

After a quarter-final loss at the Dubai Championships and a first-round exit at the Indian Wells Masters, Bopanna had slipped to second in the doubles rankings, but a Miami Open semifinal victory restored Bopanna’s top spot.

With the semi-final victory, Bopanna became the second Indian player to reach the finals of all nine ATP Masters events following the legendary Leander Paes. This is Rohan Bopanna’s 14th ATP Masters final. Bopanna has won 25 doubles titles so far. The Bopanna-Ebden duo will be making their fifth ATP Masters final in Miami.
