“Experts around the world are invited to try to determine the cause at the heart of the Rogers system,” said the Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry, François-Philippe Champagne, on the air on LCN.

The possibility of a cyberattack is nevertheless “not probable, but it cannot be excluded”, according to the minister.

“Everyone is in solution mode, and the various telecommunications companies have all offered Rogers to provide them with the necessary assistance, either with experts or by giving them more capacity,” said Champagne.

This failure might have an impact on other networks, because when it is restored, a huge number of users will reuse the services of the operator.
