Roger Binny will be the new president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). He was a member of the team that won the One Day Cricket World Cup in 1983. Binny has given the nomination even though Sourav Ganguly is not contesting again. Ganguly may become the chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC).
Jaish, son of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, will continue as secretary. Rajeev Shukla (Vice President), Ashish Sheler (Treasurer) and Devjit Saikya (Joint Secretary) presented the papers. The election will be held at the BCCI annual meeting on the 18th. All are likely to be elected unopposed. Arun Dhuman may become IPL chairman.
Sixty-seven-year-old Binny is the president of the Karnataka Cricket Association. He was a member of the national team from 1979 to 1987.
He took 47 wickets in 27 Tests. 77 wickets in 72 ODIs. In the 1983 World Cup, he took 18 wickets in eight games and played an important role in winning the title.
