ROG Phone 8 Pro: ASUS releases teaser on Geekbench with better results than the iPhone 15 Pro

With launch scheduled for tomorrow (08/01), the ASUS ROG Phone 8 line promises to bring relevant visual changes when compared to previous generations and evolutions that will give more power to mobile gamers around the world.

To reinforce this quest to deliver extreme performance to its consumers, ASUS revealed a teaser teasing the results of a device that until then was more apart of benchmark leaks, the ROG Phone 8 Pro, which resumes the third variant of the line that was left out in the previous generation (remember, the last “Pro” seen in the line was the ROG Phone 6 Pro, in 2021).

In the teaser, which can be seen below, we have confirmation from ASUS that the ROG Phone 8 Pro managed to reach the mark of 7,422 points in Geekbench 6 in multi-core, which in theory puts it ahead of the Apple A17 Bionic on board. on iPhone 15 Pro.

This superior result is not surprising, considering that already in October last year, similar results had been obtained exactly in the multi-core, thus beating the 7,237 points obtained by the Apple A17 Pro at the time.

At the time, we also had confirmation in the same comparison that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 was unable to beat the Apple competitor in single core, which considering the absence of display in the teaser, should continue without being surpassed by Qualcomm’s partners.

Returning to the ASUS results themselves, it is noteworthy that the result differs slightly from what we saw in the ROG Phone 8 Ultimate, which until now has a milestone close to 7,100 points, which raises questions as to whether we will have any overclocking for the Pro version or whether this was some refinement over time.

It’s worth remembering: until then, devices in the ROG Phone line don’t usually vary in clock speed, so a “spiced up” version would be an unexpected novelty.
