However, Rodrigo is seriously thinking about going under the knife to undergo surgery to stop wearing glasses. In dialogue with the journalist Nico Peralta for ProntoNoya revealed when he plans to have surgery and why he made such a decision.

“Since when have glasses been with me? Always. I started wearing glasses when I was very little. At 3 I was already using occluders because I have a strabismus and they are like patches that they put on your eyes to try to straighten the strabismus, which is like a deviation. Then, at 4, I already put on the first rubber ones. I hardly have a record without glasses,” he said.

-Aren’t you tired of using them?

-Sometimes it happens to me that depending on the model of the glasses it makes me more or less uncomfortable. Maybe you bend down and they slip or at work it happens to me that if I sweat, they slip a little. But they are like a part of me and when I don’t have them on, I make the gesture of adjusting them or moving them. I’m already very used to it.

-How much increase do you have?

-Five. A lot! Actually, it’s 5.25 in one and 5 or so in another. It happens that I started with less and to improve the strabismus I increased the increase. Then at some point it stopped and this is the increase I have had for quite some time. At 25 years old they told me that I could have surgery and that’s where my personal doubt began. It’s my trademark, people already have me like that and it would be strange not to use them. And I’m not just referring to the public: my family and friends already have me like this and it would be very strange for everyone.

-So you’re not going to have surgery?

-I do not rule. Maybe this year I will. I would have surgery for everything that was wearing out my eye from using magnification: astigmatism and farsightedness. The idea is to improve strabismus in both eyes, although where I have the most is in the left.

-Can you imagine living without glasses?

-It would be all new, I don’t know. Sometimes you think of it as if it were something simple, you just have the operation and that’s it. But no: it is a change of many things. Aesthetically it doesn’t bother me and it was never an impediment to anything in my life. I have friends who wear contact lenses when they go out dancing or go on a date so they don’t have to wear their glasses. In my case, I never did. On the contrary, if I take them off it’s like I feel disarmed.
