Rodrigo Aliendro and misfortune: as in the debut in River, he ended up in the hospital due to a blow

Bad fortune seems to haunt Rodrigo Allendro since his arrival at River. It is that in two key games, destiny wanted the midfielder who arrived from Colón to end up in the hospital. A hard blow to his face not only forced him to be replaced, but he was immediately put on the cart to be transferred to a health center, where the corresponding studies were carried out. In this way, the midfielder ended the superclásico very badly, which Boca won 1-0 with a goal from Darío Benedetto.

The situation occurred 22 minutes into the second half, when Aliendro received a pass from De La Cruz in his field. At the moment of unloading the ball for Enzo Pérez, the midfielder received an attack from Alan Varela. With Aliendro on the ground, the Boca footballer tried to reposition himself to avoid the millionaire counterattack, but in the attempt, he inadvertently hit the River Plate number 27’s face with his leg.

The play continued and Aliendro was left on the floor. When the game stopped and the referee, Darío Herrera, went to see what was happening, River’s man was in a lot of pain and blood was dripping from his face. Aliendro, who had come on at the start of the second half in place of Marcelo Herrera, had to be replaced by Palavecino. He was barely on the field for 24 minutes. River’s medical part: “Rodrigo Allendro suffered a fracture of the facial mass with collapse of the malar and compromise of the floor of the orbit. He will undergo surgery in the next few days.”.

A bumpy debut

The situation is not new for Rodrigo Aliendro, who the night of his presentation with the River shirt experienced a similar situation. It was in the first leg of the round of 16 of the Copa Libertadores, once morest Vélez, in Liniers. It happened 40 minutes into the second half: Aliendro jumped to head a ball in the middle of the field with Mulet, and the midfielder from Velez, in his eagerness to gain position, hit River’s man with his forearm.

Aliendro’s fall – clearly shaken by the blow – was the worst: he collapsed and when he hit the ground it was seen how a whiplash was produced in his neck. Immediately, the referee, Raphael Claus, made hasty gestures for them to enter to attend to him. The doctor, Pedro Hansing, and the kinesiologist, Jorge Bombicino, stayed for several minutes until they were able to get him on his feet. They were dramatic moments, especially because when he stood up, it was obvious that Aliendro was very shaken and that his legs did not look stable. For this reason, the doctor ordered the change and he was replaced by Agustín Palavecino.

The great debutant was on the playing field for less than half an hour and the scare won over everyone. Despite the harshness of the play, at no time did the VAR consider that it was an action for the referee to review if a red card was due. Despite the fact that there were several minutes in which the game was stopped. It is intuited that from the images they understood that it had been a shock resulting from the dispute over the ball and not a malicious or reckless action on the part of Mulet. Claus did not even show yellow to the Vélez footballer.
