presidential candidate Rodolfo Hernandez, who was on the run this Wednesday through Barranquilla, referred to the Hydroituango project reiterating its support for it to enter into operations as soon as possible.
“Colombians, we are going to support the entry into operation of Hidroituango. We are not going to put the country’s energy matrix at risk. We are going to be very aware of the completion of the civil works of this project. We have to especially support all professionals and Public Companies of Medellin”, said the politician from Santander.
Hernández had already referred directly to the situation of the hydroelectric project in an interview with Telemedellín at the beginning of May in which he supported what, according to him, it has been a correct management of the suspended mayor Daniel Quintero regarding the project.
“He (Quintero) has given himself, as they say, with soul, life and heart to defend the interests not only from Medellín, those from Antioquia, and why not say that from all Colombians. That defense that he is making to recover from the instability generated in the Hidroituango contracts and that he has paid more than 1,000 million dollars is going to benefit us all,” said Hernández, criticized at the time by various sectors that questioned his lack of knowledge regarding the status of the project and the decisions made by the Quintero mayor’s office regarding Hidroituango.
