This Tuesday it was announced that the TVN board asked to cancel the participation of Featherweight at Festival de Viña 2024. In this context Rodolfo Carter, mayor of La Florida, entered the debate and asked that a similar measure be taken with the band Free Ladies at the Olmué Festival.
In its statement, the public channel had expressed: “Unanimously, the Board of National Television of Chile decided that the administration formally transmit to the commission also made up of the Municipality of Viña del Mar and Channel 13, our disagreement as a Board of Directors with this hiring (Peso Pluma) and – therefore – our request to cancel the invitation made to said artist.”
It was as the hours passed that Carter joined the debate and expressed an opinion on the social network ‘X’, regarding the festival that will take place between this Thursday and Sunday.
“The decision of the @TVN Board of Directors is correct, in requesting the cancellation of Peso Pluma in
@elFestival de Viña. But this must be a permanent policy of the channel and any public body, starting by also canceling the presentation of Ladies Free in Olmué”, Indian.
“The resources of all Chileans cannot be neutral on these issues, and less finance the culture of death and violence that kills and threatens every day in our country,” he added.

It should be noted that Damas Gratis will be presented on the El Patagual stage on Saturday, January 20.
That same day the opening will be performed by the Ankaly Group. Other artists who will be at the event will be Coronel Valverde and Tomo Como Rey.
The festival will once once more be organized and broadcast by TVN, as in recent years.
