Roda JC in extremis next to VVV-Venlo

Roda JC Kerkrade has taken one point in Venlo in extremis. In the very last minute of injury time it was Jay Kruiver, who gave the final push to an attempt by goalkeeper Koen Bucker.

The match started for VVV-Venlo. After a few deflected corner kicks resulted in attempts on goal, the third attempt was successful. Tim Braem shot into the top corner. In the remainder of the match, we could not note many big chances. More than five minutes before half-time, Tiago Çukur seemed to slide in the equalizer, but he could not touch the cross from Arjen van der Heide.

Shortly after, the striker headed a corner kick wide. Kruiver also had another chance in the first half, but his shot on the near corner went wide of the goal.

At the start of the second half, Roda JC seemed to be entitled to a penalty. Striker Çukur wanted to take a shot, but was tackled hard. Referee Martijn Vos, however, did not see a foul. Roda JC continued to search for a goal and Çukur made another attempt. Unfortunately, he could not give the cross from substitute Patriot Sejdiu the right direction.

Finally, in the absolute final phase, a deserved point was achieved. A deflected free kick was shot on goal by goalkeeper Bucker. On the way, Kruiver managed to push the ball in the right direction and thus brought the score to 1-1.
