I don’t know how to play the guitar. However, I have played games that use plastic guitars as controllers. Rocksmith+ can be a bridge for people like me.

Rocksmith+, now out, allows players to interact with real guitar to learn and play a huge catalog of songs. As part of the subscription service, Rocksmith+ gives users access to a library of thousands of songs across a variety of genres, including artists like Alice Cooper, Nsync, and even Mozart.

But most importantly for a beginner like me, it also comes with a set of learning tools.

start from zero

If you’re completely new to guitar like me, then Rocksmith+ teaches you the basics. We offer video lessons on topics such as tuning your guitar and how to properly hold your instrument.

In a jiffy, I’ve learned a few basic chords. A video tutorial will show you where to put your fingers and start an on-screen lesson. Here, similar to the user interface seen in games like Guitar Hero, I had to play the strings when I took it out on the highway. Except here I’m playing real strings on a real guitar.

Rocksmith+ supports learning with a variety of tools.

With these starting blocks, you can start learning actual songs. Once you select your track, you can work on learning the song’s tone by note as a beginner or veteran. For those of you like me, you can run an abstract version of the path. You can also use the setting to pause the song every time you need to play a note.

Rocksmith + isolates the section you’re struggling with and gives you practice. You can repeat the same section until you feel comfortable with it.

A wide range of accessibility and customization options also make your work easier. You can change the UI layout in several important ways, such as in-game guidance. You can even play classified songs if that’s a more comfortable way to visualize your notes.

powerful tool

I’m not saying that Rocksmith+ turned me into Van Halen. Either way, learning an instrument like guitar means devoting yourself to practice. But with Rocksmith+, training is easy, accessible and gives you direct feedback on your performance.

It’s a definite step up from just following a YouTube tutorial, and an alternative to face-to-face tutoring.

Rocksmith+ gives you tons of feedback on what you’re doing right and what’s wrong.

But Rocksmith+ is more than just a learning tool. If you know how to play guitar, it can be close to the real game. This is the time when you feel like you’re in the Guitar Hero experience playing along with your favorite song. You can take it out.

Gifts for guitar lovers

Like I said, I don’t play guitar. I also dabble in other machines, such as the tin whistle. I would die for a program like this to help me learn the songs and techniques for that instrument.

If you’re a guitarist or just curious regarding playing an instrument, I honestly envy you.

Ubisoft has provided preview access to a Rocksmith+, guitar, and Rocksmith Real Tone cable for hands-on time.
