At the start of the season, we all expected to see the Montreal Canadiens miss the playoffs, but still have a great development season.
We wanted to see some progression compared to the last two seasons, while still being ready to see the club miss the playoffs.
In the end, we consoled ourselves by saying that at least we would have a whole club to follow in Laval this season, considering all the good young players who were going to be part of the team.
We mightn’t wait to see them all in action and develop great chemistry with the Rocket to possibly be part of the future of the Montreal Canadiens in the NHL.
However, things did not go as planned in Laval.
While we expected a dominant club that would make the playoffs easily and give us quite a spectacle in every game, we were treated to a horrible start to the season, while the Rocket were probably the worst team in the League American.
It was difficult to see the club perform poorly like that, and we were starting to fear for the development of the club’s various young players.
We want young people to also develop in victory and not just in defeat and in a depressive environment.
It was therefore a rather alarming situation in Laval which made people fear for the future.
We really questioned Jean-François Houle’s place as head coach.
Fortunately, the team recovered, and did so in a very good way.
After its horrible start to the season, the club is now in fourth place in its division, the North division.

After warming up to seventh and last place for many weeks, the Rocket finds itself right in the heart of the race for the playoffs.
We remember that it is the first five teams in the division that qualify for the spring tournament.
It’s quite a turnaround in the Rocket’s season, something we mightn’t have imagined a few weeks ago when every game was practically an assured defeat.
Casually, the dismissal of Arber Xhekaj to Laval coincided with the start of a better streak for the Rocket. Xhekaj has established himself as a leader in Laval and he’s clearly helping the team win big games.
The pair he forms with Logan Mailloux plays a big role in the Rocket’s recent successes.
Laval has won eight of its last ten games, including two victories this weekend once morest the Manitoba Moose.
Yesterday followingnoon, the Rocket won a great match in front of their fans by a score of 4 to 1.

The recent return to the game of Lias Andersson is really good for the Rocket.
In short, despite numerous long-term injuries, Jean-François Houle’s squad is holding on and has put its season back on the right track.
This is excellent news for both the club and the fans.
The playoff race will be exciting to watch, and let’s hope the club goes a long way if they qualify.
Hopefully the recall of Joshua Roy to Montreal won’t hurt too much.
