Although the Summer Game Fest and the many conferences in June are already behind us, the course of the month of July does not signify the end of events around video games. Preferring to unveil the new products in its catalog during a calmer period, the French publisher Nacon gave us an appointment this evening on its various networks for a presentation rich in announcements. And we start strong with RoboCop: Rogue City, which marks the return of a great pop-culture icon of the 90s!

RoboCop pulls out the guns and doesn’t laugh
Almost a year ago, to the day, we announced that the most famous robotic policeman was about to make a comeback on next-gen consoles, namely PS5 et Xbox Series X|Sas well as on top PC in an unprecedented adventure under the leadership of Teyon and Nacon. Very attached to the basic material, we will indeed find Alex Murphy, better known under the identity of RoboCop, in a story inspired by the first three sons of the eponymous film franchise. With the return of RoboCop, Teyon and Nacon made a daring bet because, until now, no one had tried to resurrect the augmented peace officer since 2003.
In the summer of 2021, the announcement of a new plot in the skin of the famous character and in the streets of Detroit piqued our curiosity. However, this is not expected before 2023, which explains why Nacon has chosen careful communication which will only resume today with the presence of the long-awaited game for the Nacon Connect 2022 conference. And the least we can say is that the half-human, half-robot policeman does not go easy on it!

After the announcement last year, all we hoped to see was a good slice of gameplay and Nacon seems to have heard our prayers since RoboCop : Rogue City did come back for the event with some gameplay. As expected, the robotic policeman does not do half measures to get rid of the vermin that is turning the city of Detroit upside down. After a short stroll through the streets of the city, the police officer is quickly led to restore order, but always in his own way: namely, in a huge volley of bullets and an explosion of hemoglobin!
If bandits show no mercy to citizens, RoboCop gives them the same treatment in return. In first-person view, you really embody the distant cousin of Terminator who is able to grab his enemies and throw them with force (just like the elements of the decor) and pulls out his best guns to clean up. No matter the number, it’s still carnage and nothing can resist it. As a final surprise, the Teyon studio offers us an idea of the release date: RoboCop : Rogue City will be released in June 2023 on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and, another surprise, on Switch !
