Robinson Romero, Venezuela’s futsal coach, highlighted the talent and growth of this sport in his country and gave as an example the qualification for the quarterfinals with the victory achieved yesterday against Spain by 2-1, despite the fact that the coach admitted the poor start to the tournament with two defeats against Iran 7-1 and France 7-3.

Romero, in statements to FIFA, valued the Venezuelan competition and said: “We have a pretty good league, which is growing and I always bet on players from the competition, with the proof that there are 11 locals here and 3 are from outside.” ”, he rejoiced.

The coach highlighted the victory against Spain, third in the world ranking and two-time champions. “We had a difficult group in the first phase, but we were convinced that if we passed we could extend our stay here a little longer. “We have always thought about the semifinals and now we are only focused on the match with Ukraine,” he commented.

No pessimism
