Robin Hornig takes over the “Auto Bild” reaction from Tom Drechsler

Axel Springer announced that Robin Hornig (41) will be editor-in-chief of the car magazine and editor-in-chief of the car competence center of the “Bild” group by March 1, 2023 at the latest leaves by “mutual agreement”.

Hornig has been deputy editor-in-chief of “Auto Bild Digital” since 2016 and deputy editor-in-chief of “Auto Bild” since 2020. Above all, he pushed ahead with the digital development of “Auto Bild” on the editorial side.

Tom Drechsler came to “Bild” in 1991, first as a political correspondent in the Bonn office, later as deputy editor-in-chief, head of news, head of politics and from 2014 was deputy editor-in-chief of “Bild am Sonntag”. In 2017, Drechsler became editor-in-chief of “Auto Bild” and editor-in-chief of the newly created editorial competence center Auto.

The sales of “Auto Bild” had recently fallen. The paid circulation fell in the third quarter of 2022 by almost 15 percent to around 204,000 copies. (awm)
