This Monday, when he was regarding to close the doors of his restaurant following a busy lunch service, the manager of the Italian restaurant “Il Passatore”, well known for its delicious piadines and located in the city center of La Louvière, was the victim of a theft by ruse to say the least audacious. Two young people came to him claiming they were irrepressibly thirsty. “The poor people, they were thirsty. They seemed so desperate and insistent that I offered them a coke,” explains Roberto, manager of Il Passatore, on social networks. “When leaving, and as a thank you for my excessive kindness, they unwittingly took my bag which was on the table… In the middle of the day, with a confidence and confidence that I envy them!”

In this bag were his house keys, car keys, his wallet but above all the weekend’s recipe! “The recipe is a detail. We work for pleasure and passion, not for money. It’s a crisis, the cost of living is increasing for everyone, and I’m sure that With the money they collected from the sweat of the race they did when they left, they will help their parents pay the bills and groceries for the month. Or perhaps buy the latest i-Phone. ..”

The worst, losing your papers

What bothers Roberto the most is the loss of his papers. “I also lost the photos of my dad, my children and my grandchildren and… I have to take the plane on Tuesday the 26th!”

The feeling of insecurity in the city center in La Louvière, a reality.

The restaurant manager launched a call for help on social networks to recover his papers. “As Christmas approaches, miracles happen. If you might put a little thought and energy into it so that I find it before Monday, you will even be able to make me believe that Santa Claus exists. The positive side of this story, it’s all the solidarity that I received and the help from people to help me complete, in record time, my procedures with the Consulate, with the Police… I received lots message of support and encouragement.”

To close his message, Roberto talks regarding the feeling of insecurity that can sometimes reign in the city center. “Safety in the city should become the priority of municipal authorities. Like, for example, putting lighting back on the street. Because now, you know, I often look behind me when I close my restaurant and go to get in my car …”
