Roberto Mancini Named Saudi Arabia Coach: Former Italy Manager Takes Charge for 4 Years

Roberto Mancini (58) has been named Saudi Arabia coach. He had resigned in mid-August from his position as coach of the Italy team.

Mancini, a former international, has signed a 4-year contract according to the Saudi Federation. He succeeds Frenchman Hervé Renard, who was in charge of the selection at the last World Cup in Qatar before being appointed coach of the French women’s team.

During his time at the head of the Squadra azzurra, which began in 2018, Roberto Mancini had alternated the very good – victory at Euro 2021 – and the most difficult, with failure in qualifying for the 2022 World Cup.
