Roberto Duarte is experiencing an extremely satisfactory harvest moment. What he planted more than two decades ago is bearing fruit today.
An example of this is his starring role in the upcoming Prime Video series, “Who Killed Him?”, where he will play host Paco Stanley.

“I have worked the land with great dedication, I have taken care of the growth of my plants and they are beginning to bear fruit, what corresponds to me is to collect them, manage them and ensure that I am able to continue delivering my stage work calmly, tranquilly and with the level of quality with which I have always worked,” said Duarte in an interview with El Sol de México.
Since the trend of telling the story of famous people through bioseries began, Duarte immediately thought that he might have the opportunity to play Paco Stanley, the proposal to be part of Who Killed Him?, a six-episode series , came directly to him, from director Humberto Hinojosa, more than a year ago.
“There is a physical resemblance that I do have, I have light eyes, I am paunchy, I am not that cheeky, but it is within my range of character. At some point it was a wish that I threw into the cosmos and the cosmos materialized it for me, it is great and I am very happy.
“It was almost a year of studying and preparing the character, there was gestural research, construction of the character’s psyche, just as I do with all my characters, but this time with the responsibility of having the central character of the drama,” said the actor.
“Who killed him?” will delve into the story of Paco Stanley, his relationship with his colleagues and his fatal outcome, when he was murdered outside a restaurant in Mexico City in June 1999, all from each person’s perspective. of those involved.
The series, which will premiere on May 24, features performances by Belinda, as Paola Durante; Luis Gerardo Méndez as Mario Bezares; Zuria Vega, as Brenda, “Mayito’s” wife; Javier Ramírez “El Cha”, giving life to Benito Castro and Diego Boneta as the journalist Jorge Gil.
Duarte assured that Stanley’s family’s opposition to this project does not cause him any conflict.
“That is something that is not in my hands, it is not something that corresponds to me, I am an actor who is called upon to represent a character, nothing more,” he emphasized.
He became a producer
With this series, Duarte was able to realize a second dream, which is to produce the play “Colitas decotto o la rebellion de las rats”, a fable that addresses the issue of equality and questions the value that society gives to external beautty.
“It is a play in which I invested everything I earned in the series. I wrote it a few years ago and now I have the opportunity to produce it. It tells the story of a group of squirrels that live happily in the trees and do not realize that they are being watched by a group of rats that, from the sewer, ask themselves: ‘why are they and not us?’, ‘why are they?’ That they do receive crumbs and play with the children and we are condemned to this rot?’
“One day, the rats come to the surface of the park looking for equality and it is a social satire that highlights the differences and invites us to reflect on what we are going to do, are we going to kill each other once more for our differences or are we going to use the knowledge of all the revolutions that we have already gone through to achieve a spiritual evolution that, from harmony, seeks the common good?”, Duarte said.

The play will premiere this April 5 at the Silvia Pinal Theater Finally, Duarte considers himself ready to continue developing his skills within the industry. He currently describes himself as an artist in every sense of the word, this is because, since his beginnings, he has had the opportunity to explore different areas.
“Looking for work as an actor, I started working as a journalist because I wrote, then I was head of information, stage director (at Tv Azteca), casting director, I have directed opera in Switzerland, I have done many things so in that sense I think I am very lucky,” he said.
