In full promotion for the release of his new film, the comedy “About My Father”, the 79-year-old actor was asked regarding his own paternity. “I know you have six children,” began the journalist from ET Canada, before being immediately taken up by the star.
“Seven, actually. I have just had a baby”, launched Robert De Niro.
The comedian did not share more details, neither on the date of birth nor on the identity of the mom. His spokesperson nevertheless confirmed the star’s comments.
Robert De Niro separated from his second wife, Grace Hightower, in 2018 following more than twenty years of marriage. They have two children together, Elliot and Helen. He was previously married to Diahnne Abbott, with whom he also has a daughter and a son, Drena and Raphael. The Hollywood star is also raising twins with Toukie Smith, Aaron and Julian.
Robert De Niro spoke of the ties that unite him to his children and how, in particular, the youngest make him go crazy from time to time.
“My children don’t always agree with me, but they remain respectful. My daughter (Helen) is 11 and she gives me a hard time sometimes, even though I love her. And with my youngest now, that makes more to come. But that’s how it is,” said Robert De Niro.
