Robert Bauer, the Al-Tai player, responded to criticism of the Saudi League due to the strong moves in the transfer market this summer.

Several prominent stars in the world of European football criticized the Roshen League revolution and its competition for senior players in Mercato, and pointed to the role that money played in tipping the scales.

Bauer, a former Werder Bremen player, defended with “sportbuzzer” the Saudi League: “A lot has changed since Ronaldo’s arrival. I was thinking of leaving, but my agent asked me to be patient because things will change. What happens is not the end and a lot will happen here before the end of the transfer market.”

And he continued: “Spoiling the Mercato? What is happening is similar to what is happening in England and the Premier League there, being the strongest economically, but the matter was never considered a problem, only now there are cries in Germany because of what Saudi Arabia is doing.”

And the German continued: “It cannot even be compared to China. Saudi Arabia has one of the strongest leagues in Asia, the stadiums are full, the fans are enthusiastic, and the clubs did not arise out of nowhere, and things will not last two years and then collapse.”
