Robeilys Peinado is keeping up the pace ahead of her upcoming participation in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

“The sensations are very good. She was happy, we were happy. In fact, we went from 55 (4.55 meters) to 65, which is an acceptable mark. We could have gone to 60, but to get closer to what will happen in Paris, we have to reach those marks,” explained Eladio Farfán, the athlete’s coach, to Aloys Marín, a journalist from the Venezuelan Olympic Committee (COV), about Peinado’s performance in the National Athletics Championship.

Recent experience

Before traveling to Paris, where she participated last Friday as a representative of the Venezuelan delegation in the opening parade of the universal multi-sport competition, Peinado competed in the Spitzen Leichtathletik in the Allmend stadium in Lucerne, Switzerland. She finished eighth with 4.55 meters, “to strengthen her competitive technical gesture.”

Now, on August 5, she will seek to qualify for her second Olympic final after Tokyo 2020. This event will be held on August 7.

“The strategies are dictated by the Organizing Committee. Two days before the competition, they define how the heights will be arranged. We put together the strategy at that moment. When they tell us the starting height, which will be from time to time, we start working based on that. We have an idea based on last year’s World Championship, but we don’t know if it will be repeated,” Farfán said.
