At around 6:50 p.m. on the 24th, the Metropolitan Police Department received a report of a “robber” coming from a tobacco store in Higashikomatsugawa, Edogawa Ward, Tokyo.

According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the store owner, a man in his 80s, was working alone in a warehouse at the back of the store when a man suddenly barged in with what appeared to be a knife.

When his daughter, a man in his 70s, returned to the store and found a man being pushed to the ground in a warehouse, she called out to him, saying, “Who are you?” The man choked her and threatened to “give me money.” The suspect stole approximately 50,000 yen in cash and ran away.

The man was punched in the face and suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital, but his daughter was not injured.
