Roadcard, an electronic freight payment institution, and Move Mais, an electronic payment method administrator, are launching TAG do Caminhoneiro, the first electronic payment tag for toll vouchers that does not require a credit card or current account link. in the purchase and recharge process, allowing credits to be loaded via PIX or bank slip.
The Truck Driver TAG is exempt from costs that made it difficult for truck drivers to access this payment method, such as monthly fees and the need for mandatory top-ups. After the first charge, the tag’s balance does not expire and it is eligible to receive any type of credit, including payment of the mandatory toll voucher, from any transport contractor.
According to Anna Luiza Miranda, director of Marketing, Innovation and Product at Roadcard, TAG do Caminhoneiro resolves some issues that prevented the use of this payment method by self-employed truck drivers, as most plans require the linking of a credit card. “We are always seeking to innovate to meet the needs of our customers, transporters and truck drivers, audiences we know closely and have dealt with daily for over 12 years,” she states. “The TAG do Caminhoneiro plan, in partnership with Move Mais, arrives to offer more convenience and security for these professionals”, she adds.
To acquire the Truck Driver TAG, drivers need to access the Move Mais website and validate their registration, since the plan is initially intended for Pamcard customers – which has more than 600 thousand professionals on its platform.
You can then choose one of the plans offered and pay, via PIX or bank slip, the membership fee and the minimum initial charge. For Individual plans, the minimum top-up value is R$100, with a fee of R$15.50. For Corporate plans, the minimum charge is R$250, with a fee of R$26.50.
As a campaign to launch the Truck Driver’s TAG plan, all drivers who have already received payments through the Pamcard system – such as the Pamcard Card, the Pambank Digital Account or PIX – will be exempt from the membership fee and tag sending fee, which may also can be picked up at some commercial points spread across the country.
“This product in partnership with Move Mais meets a latent demand from our customers, who seek to make logistics operations more agile, but who have not been successful when transport was carried out with independent or similar drivers, due to difficulties in adherence to traditional plans”, explains Everton Kaghofer, commercial director at Roadcard. “In addition, it is a very important step in preparing the freight transport market for the future, which is Free Flow (toll charging system)”, he adds.
New Toll Voucher rules
The truck driver’s TAG will also help companies hiring self-employed drivers to comply with the new Mandatory Toll Voucher rules, which came into force in September, with the Resolution No. 6,024/23 from the National Land Transport Agency (ANTT). One of the rules is the prohibition of this payment in kind.
The Mandatory Toll Voucher can only be paid by suppliers authorized by ANTT. One of these companies is Roadcard, which offers payment options via card (Pamcard) or via tags from partner companies, such as Move Mais.
Failure to comply with ANTT rules, including failure to acquire and make available the Mandatory Toll Voucher to the transporter, will result in a fine of R$3,000.00 per vehicle and per trip.
