Roadcard, the Electronic Freight Payments Institution (IPEF), is partnering with ConectCar, one of the main automatic mobility payment companies in Brazil. With this, transport companies that are customers of the company will have another electronic tag option for paying the Mandatory Toll Voucher (VPO) to truck drivers.

Payment of the Toll Voucher is a requirement of Law No. 10,209, of 2001, which establishes the rights and duties relating to the payment of this benefit. By also offering the ConectCar tag, Roadcard expands the options for its customers to meet the standards of the National Land Transport Agency (ANTT).

Currently, more than 60% of Brazilian cargo is transported by road mode, according to data from the federal government. For truck drivers and transport companies, the main benefit of using electronic tags is the reduction in travel time. The billing process is faster, stopping time at toll plazas is reduced and the amounts credited to the tag can be used immediately. In addition, there is a reduction in fuel consumption and wear on tires and automotive parts with braking.

“The use of electronic tags to pay the Mandatory Toll Voucher helps to reduce irregularities that are observed in this sector and to balance roles and responsibilities between companies and drivers”, says Anna Luiza Miranda, director of Innovation, Products and Marketing at Roadcard.

“This partnership with ConectCar is essential for us to complete our offer of Mandatory Toll Voucher payment solutions and adds value to our portfolio of products and services, as this is one of the main tags in Brazil, with penetration in the entire national territory”, says the director.

For ConectCar, the partnership is also important, as Roadcard has been operating in the road freight transport payments segment for years. Through the Pamcard Solution, it offers the possibility of generating the CIOT (Transportation Operation Identifier Code) and, in a single process, making payments for freight, toll vouchers, travel and fuel expenses for self-employed truck drivers or those with their own fleet.

“With the partnership with Roadcard, we will have the opportunity to provide advantages and meet the needs of truck drivers”, says ConectCar’s Business and Products director, Newton Ferrer.
