Asunción, IP Agency.- The road safety works in San Estanislao, part of the Malla Norte Urban Security Plan, reached 40% physical progress. This project seeks to reduce road accidents and protect pedestrians, especially students, by creating safe school corridors.

The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) highlights that the creation of safe school corridors is a key action of the plan.

In San Estanislao, the work is concentrated in the vicinity of Libertad and Teniente Mello Street, in front of the Jesús Sacramentado School, where significant improvements are being made to the road infrastructure.

The execution contract, with a duration of 12 months, is in its seventh month of development. This project is part of the “Transportation Connectivity” initiative, financed by the World Bank.

The company Sotec SA executes the works, while the Tosticarelli y Asociados consortium is in charge of supervision, guaranteeing high quality and safety standards.

Regional impact and future projection

The Malla Norte Urban Security Plan is not limited to San Estanislao. It also includes interventions in Capiibary, Carayao, San Ignacio and Coronel Bogado, as part of a strategy that is developed in agreement with the beneficiary municipalities.

These actions seek to improve road safety in urban crossings, responding to the urgent need to protect pedestrians and organize traffic in highly vulnerable areas.

The implementation of this component represents a significant step towards the modernization of road infrastructure in the region, promising a positive impact on the quality of life of the inhabitants and the safety of road users.
