The green line of Doha-Education City Tram is getting ready to be operational. Road safety guidelines have been announced for the trial run.
Qatar Foundation officials have announced road safety guidelines for a trial run along the Green Line in the coming weeks. The Green Line runs from North Campus to South Campus via Qatar National Convention Center, Sidra Medicine and Qatar Science and Technology Park. Most of the universities and schools under the Qatar Foundation are located in the South, making traveling here even easier.
The Green Line crosses Garafat-Al Rayan Junction. Here, signals, speed cameras and barriers have been installed on the sides of the road to ensure road safety. Pedestrians, including pedestrians, must follow the traffic signals at all times. The authorities also advised to be careful while passing through Garafat-Al Rayan junction.
The Green Line underpins the sustainable transport system of the Qatar Foundation’s Education City. Currently the tram service is on yellow and blue lines. There are 24 stops. Trams pass through academic campuses, Education City Stadium, sports and research centers. The tram is part of an eco-friendly and sustainable transport system.
Three thousand people travel on the Education City Tram every day. The 11.5 km tram connects the south and north parts of the city. Trams are fully air-conditioned modern street cars with state-of-the-art facilities.
