RNI President Aziz Akhannouch’s Optimism for Morocco’s Economic Growth and Government Achievements

Salé – The president of the National Rally of Independents (RNI), Aziz Akhannouch, showed his optimism regarding the next three years of the government’s mandate, by addressing the party’s elected officials on Saturday in Salé on the occasion of their Regional Forum.

Although the first two years of the mandate were not easy, the national economy underwent several transformations following the covid-19 pandemic which proved to be “beneficial” for Morocco with the installation of several foreign investors. , underlined Mr. Akhannouch.

“Some try to distract us with everyday problems. We, as a government, care regarding it and try to provide solutions without neglecting the major strategic projects”, he argued, welcoming the homogeneity of the Executive and the seriousness of the RNIs.

“It is quite natural that there is a debate within the party, but it must remain centered on the citizen. We are not here to satisfy each other but to serve his interests through your action,” he said.

Stopping precisely on the achievements of the government in various sectors, the president of the RNI cited as an example the mobilization of 10 billion DH for the support of the agricultural sector, the rehabilitation of 1,500 health centers including some in Rabat and the approval of a series of projects for an amount of 76.7 billion DH allowing the creation of thousands of jobs.

Highlighting the agricultural, industrial and tourist potential and the qualified human capital that abounds in the region of Rabat-Salé-Kénitra, he specified that Rabat, which arouses the admiration of senior officials who visit it, is home to several structuring projects such as the new CHU which will have a bedding capacity exceeding 1,000 beds, the Bouknadel Industrial Acceleration Zone and the Sebou and Bouregreg interconnection project.

He further recalled that, in the last elections, the dove party obtained 45% of the votes region-wide with Asmaa Rhlalou as RNIst mayor of Rabat, arguing that all elected RNIsts will be impatient once more “ to be on board the train” during the municipal deadlines of 2027.

Abdellah Ghazi, president of the National Federation of RNI elected officials and member of the party’s political bureau, reiterated the strategic nature of this forum, which is at its fifth stage, to maintain the channels of dialogue and consultation with elected officials around the various issues of internal life and the challenges linked to the nature of institutional action, whether in terms of local democracy, territorial development or governance.

He affirmed the party’s readiness to train and support the efforts of its elected officials in order to establish transparency and credibility within elected institutions.

Saad Benmbarek, regional coordinator of the RNI in Rabat-Salé-Kénitra, for his part explained that this forum is an opportunity to discuss issues related to territorial management, in particular the budgets which must be revised upwards in order to enable elected officials to play their institutional roles and honor their commitments to the electorate.

It also aims, he added, to find the appropriate mechanisms to provide training and internships for the benefit of elected officials and to initiate a certain dynamic to maintain proximity with citizens.

This regional forum was marked by the presentation of the conclusions of five workshops relating to the sources of territorial financing, the elected woman and the challenges of territorial management, the convergence between the territorial development programs and the implementation of the government program in the region, territorial marketing and the entrepreneurial management of municipalities, and on the status of the elected representative and the qualification of the territorial manager.
