Al Sharqia Health Club activates the “Home Medicine” program for mental health diseases and addiction diseases

The Eastern Health Complex in the Irada and Mental Health Complex in Dammam implemented the home medicine program, in order to provide service to patients through an integrated treatment team that reaches the beneficiaries of the service to their homes, in addition to the creation of 20 virtual clinics.

The head of the operation of the Irada and Mental Health Complex in Dammam, Abdul Salam Al-Juaib, explained that the complex has established 20 virtual clinics, including 12 clinics for mental patients and 8 clinics for addicts, in addition to the home medicine program, as the number of patients provided with home health care services reached 554 beneficiaries.

While the new clinics in the complex, according to Al-Jaib, amount to 29 clinics for psychiatric diseases and 21 clinics for addiction diseases, and an addiction rehabilitation unit for women and helping them recover was opened, in order to provide an integrated rehabilitative treatment program to help them recover.

Al-Juaib indicated that the services provided to patients are psychological and social medical care, in addition to providing rehabilitation programs for individuals who suffer from mental illnesses or addiction diseases, through specialized treatment programs for each individual according to the patient’s medical condition and clinical diagnosis, including: treatment and rehabilitation of addicts, treatment Psychological and mental disorders, and providing treatment counseling to patients’ families, in addition to providing psychological counseling to the community, and services for early detection of psychological conditions through the Mental Health Unit for community service, as well as providing preventive programs for the local community through educational lectures inside and outside the complex for various educational, military and other sectors .

Al-Juaib added that the number of visits to patients attending the home health care service, starting from January 2022 to December of the current year, reached 9031 visitors, and an organizational project was learned to receive auditors, namely: reviewing policies and procedures, redesigning the sorting mechanism, and organizing the course of non-emergency cases. And directing them to outpatient clinics, in order to provide complete health care for the auditor.
