Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan considered the day before yesterday, in a statement to the Saudi Al-Arabiya channel, that the status quo in Syria is unsustainable and that any new approach will require dialogue with Damascus. On the opposite bank, Damascus has not issued any official comment on the Saudi statements so far. In parallel, the statements issued by Moscow revealed imminent moves in terms of normalizing Syrian-Arab relations. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov expressed his congratulations to friends in Iran, Saudi Arabia and China for reaching an agreement to restore relations between Riyadh and Tehran, and said: “On the same basis we encourage Our friends in Ankara and Damascus support the normalization of Syrian-Turkish relations in accordance with the principles of international law.
