Riviera tech makes its comeback in complete relaxation at #DDA6

This is a constant for the CannesIsUp association, the organizer of the DDA (Disconnect, Relax, Have fun). Almost every year is full.

For this 6e edition which took place on Friday 1is September on Sainte-Marguerite Island off Cannes, some 430 startuppers, scale-uppers, contractors, business angels… from all over the Côte d’Azur took part in the 21 sports and well-being workshops and training organized throughout the day.

The #DDA is also regarding Decision Makers Meetings, a golden opportunity for young shoots to have access in a cool atmosphere to large groups like Orange, Robertet or Suez, to incubators and business angels at the like Maxime Paradis (founder of G Ventures) or Iéva Gaigala (founder of Revolyx)… Some 150 one-to-one meetings took place.

CSR in the spotlight

Another highlight of the event was the presentation of the CSR trophies with the support of the Grasse group Robertet, world leader in natural raw materials.

The award in the Societal Inclusion category went to Gandee, the startup founded by Niçoise Layticia Audibert. In its DNA, Solidarity As A Service. It supports companies of all sizes in their management of corporate sponsorship by selecting associations, collecting donations, etc.

TriMed’s, another Niçoise, was awarded the Environmental Challenge trophy. Its raison d’être, the hunt for waste by recovering drugs that are unsold or are close to their expiry date.

Finally, the Cagnoise Smartclic won the Human Capital Trophy for its involvement in the reintegration of people in mental or physical difficulty. Its SmartShop platform, which counts Orpi or Robertet among its customers, allows networks and franchises to order all kinds of goodies and visibility media. It has forged a partnership for four years with the Grasse Red Cross. It employs 24 young adults aged between 16 and 20 who oversee the quality control and packaging of some 5,000 parcels sent annually.

Côte d’Azur Hackathons

For the 2e year, DDA presented trophies to the winning teams of the hackathons which took place this year in the four territories of the French Tech Côte d’Azur.

In Cannes, and in partnership with Amadeus, the Tech for Tourism hackathon which took place in February saw the victory of the Welc-Home team. Its solidarity tourism platform aims to make travel richer and more inclusive by relying on hosts who love their city or region. Welc-Home’s secret weapon? An algorithm promoting matching between travelers and hosts.

The objective of the Grasse hackathon is naturalness. Mission fulfilled with Régé-Végétaux. Its composting center would allow manufacturers to pay less for the treatment of their draff [résidus végétaux après traitements, ndlr] and thus reduce their carbon footprint.

The team is currently looking for land that would make it possible to offer compost to Grasse farmers from Grasse fields! The very definition of the circular economy.

In Sophia Antipolis, Santina, who won the Challenge Jeunes Pousses in March, is tackling a problem that affects one in two women: painful periods. Its device connected to the underwear uses electrostimulation to reduce pain and is coupled with a smartphone app that manages the intensity of the electrodes. The app also brings together a community of women who can help each other and have access to a community of gynecologists, doctors, nutritionists…

Finally, in the Nice area, the young students supported by NiceStart(s)Up and gathered within the Bocal Academy have developed a prototype of a digital and connected circuit breaker for the Nice start-up Oghji, which has won numerous awards for its innovation. The design, the personalization of the interfaces, these are them.

After the “D” of “Disconnection” and “Relaxation”, the “A” of “Amusez-vous” took over with a disco in one of the wings of Fort de l’Île Sainte-Marguerite.
