‘Riverdale’ actor sentenced to life for murdering his mother

Young Canadian actor Ryan Grantham has just been sentenced to life in prison for murdering his mother on March 31, 2020, and planning an assassination attempt on Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. He will not be able to benefit from a parole during the first fourteen years of his prison sentence, report the Canadian media.

In March 2020, the Canadian actor, seen in particular in the series Riverdale, killed his mother with a bullet in the head, while she was playing the piano and turned her back on him. He filmed the body, which he then covered with a sheet and surrounded by candles. Hours later, Grantham, now 24, drove to Ottawa, aiming to kill Justin Trudeau. He had taken with him three weapons, ammunition, a dozen Molotov cocktails and camping gear. But following traveling 200 kilometers, Ryan Grantham had changed his mind and considered an attack on the Lions Gate Bridge in Vancouver or in his old university.

Finally, seized with remorse, the young man surrendered to the police without using his weapons, and confessed to the murder of his mother. He had since been in pre-trial detention.
