Spain – Former Barcelona and Brazilian national team star Rivaldo nominated Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho to succeed Barca’s current coach, Xavi, who will leave his position at the end of the season for now.
Rivaldo stressed, in statements reported by the British newspaper “The Sun”, that Mourinho should not be overlooked, simply because he has a history of coaching Real Madrid, Barcelona’s traditional rival.
He explained: “There are many fans who do not accept players or coaches who represented the opposing team, but Mourinho was already in Barcelona (he worked as an assistant) with Sir Bobby Robson, and he is a great person.”

The 2002 world champion continued: “Given that Mourinho is currently without a club and regarding the situation in Barcelona, in my opinion it is easier for him to join the team than Guardiola (who is linked to Manchester City), and I think that it would be a great deal for Barca, although some fans do not.” “They prefer that.”
