Riva Ligure, Istat adaptation of urban hygiene: for the Municipality the costs increase but not …

The Municipality of Riva Ligure has approved an adjustment of the expenditure for the urban hygiene service managed by Amaie Energia e Servizi Srl, with an increase of 0.7% starting from last February 1st. The determination, formalized on August 7th, reflects the ISTAT adjustment necessary to cover the costs of the service in the Sanremo waste basin.

The new monthly fee for the service has been updated to €55,739.93, VAT included, compared to the previous €55,352.46, an increase of €387.47 per month. The total expected expenditure for the entire year 2024, including additional services, is now estimated at €673,883, compared to the initial €668,491.69. This adjustment, which will also be applied for the years 2025 and 2026 with an expected annual expenditure of €668,880, is necessary to ensure the sustainability of the urban waste collection and treatment service.

The comparison with previous years highlights a constant increase in costs. In 2022, the annual cost for the collection and sweeping service amounted to 552,117 euros, while in 2023 it rose to 602,310 euros. This growing trend reflects the increase in operating costs and the need to adapt to Istat indices, which directly influence the fee due for the service.

The adaptation represents a necessary step for the Municipality of Riva Ligure to maintain the efficiency of the service in a context of growing inflation and price variations, while ensuring the quality of the urban hygiene service for citizens.

The increase in costs for the waste collection and management service decided by the Municipality of Riva Ligure will not be reflected on the citizens, as it is the administration that must pay more to the company that manages the waste due to the increase in inflation.
