According to the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s heat-related emergency room surveillance system on the 30th, 178 heat-related illnesses occurred for three days from the 26th to the 28th.
Expanding from May 20th, when the monitoring system began operating, to the last 28th, the cumulative number of heat-related illnesses reached 938, and the estimated number of deaths was 3.

On the 29th, only in Gyeongbuk, four elderly people in their 70s to 90s died while working in the fields in the heat wave, and all are believed to have died from heat-related illness.
In Gyeongnam, on the 29th, two people died while working in Miryang and Namhae-gun, and the province classified the deaths of the two as heat-related illnesses caused by heat waves.
