The situation is different within the Brussels-Capital Region. Indeed, fewer Brussels residents had a second job during the first quarter of 2023. There were more than 20,000 in 2022, compared to only 16,675 at the start of 2023.

In Flanders, the figures are much higher since in the first quarter of 2023, more than 177,000 people had a second job. In 2021, 141,180 Flemings were affected.

However, these figures should be taken with a grain of salt. According to Statbel, the quarterly sample being much smaller than the annual sample, these figures should be interpreted with caution.
