According to the regional Ministry of Health, six residents of Komi returned from their vacation place with suspected measles.

After arriving from vacation, six people addressed the medical workers with various complaints: two minors and four adults. All those who applied are now isolated, and they still have not been diagnosed with an exact diagnosis.

Regional epidemiologist Nina Ovchinnikova told reporters that six people who returned from vacation were suspected of having measles. According to the specialist, people traveled to territories that were unfavorable for this disease, and it is likely that they brought the virus to the Komi Republic.

In 2023, more than four thousand cases of measles were recorded in Russia in 66 regions of the country. Most often, those who visit southern countries become infected.
