The cult heavy metallers RIOT V announce their new album “Mean Streets” for February 16, 2024! The lyric video for the first digital single “High Noon” is already online on all streaming platforms.
Motorbikes rattling in the distance, only shadows approaching on the horizon… Who’s making you sit up and take notice? It’s clear: they are none other than the US icons RIOT V who are finally turning the corner with their brand new studio work “Mean Streets”! The disc, which will be released on February 16, 2024 via Atomic Fire Records, offers twelve tracks that the group recorded together with Bruno Ravel in New Jersey. Ravel was also responsible for mixing them before the mastering skills of Bart Gabriel completed them. The record is adorned by furious artwork by Gyula Havancsák (including ACCEPT, STRATOVARIUS, BRAINSTORM), who has, as usual, skilfully illustrated the direction of the songs – of course without leaving out the band’s typical seal theme. The first musical foretaste of the album, which goes by the name ‘High Noon’ and takes the ‘Mean Streets’ campaign from zero to one hundred within a crisp 3:26 minutes, also rushes forward no less.

“We are really happy to be able to release what is now RIOT’s 17th album, “Mean Streets,” on the top label Atomic Fire Records! With this record we went back to our roots a bit: there are some hard rockers, but of course also numerous power metal songs on the record. When I wrote the first pre-release track, ‘High Noon’, which can also be seen and heard in the form of a lyric video, my thoughts were entirely with Mark Reale, who was a big Western fan and also wrote songs regarding the same topic [u.a. ‚Restless Breed’/’Gunfighter‘]. Musically, the whole thing is reminiscent of our “Thundersteel”/“Privilege Of Power” times! Have fun metal warriors, more great news is on the way!”

“I can’t wait for people to finally hear Mean Streets. We really are continually evolving, while we have one foot stuck in the past, but the other is also moving towards the future.”
