Three separate events through which a journey of memory takes place and at the same time an effort to awaken consciousness organizes the On Thursday 14, Friday 15 and Saturday 16 November the Municipality of Patras for him celebration of 51her anniversary of the Polytechnic uprising.
The cycle of events opens on 9.30 on the evening of Thursday 14 November at “Pantheon” with the screening of the film by Nikos Antonakos “Right of the Right” in which they star Vasos Andronidis, Antoniou Antonis, Gerasimos Skiadaresis, Petros Fyssoun, Giorgos Ninios and Iota Festa.
The film brings to the fore the action of the secret services of the dictatorship of the colonels who use a resistance captain, who is their prisoner, in order to trap nuclei of the resistance
Conflicting ideological trajectories of people, each of whom represents something specific, are swept away by the maelstrom of History and “unfold” on the big screen, from which the mosaic of representative heroes of a certain era “parades”.
Her Friday 15 November at 9.00 pm at Conference and Cultural Center of the University of Patras, there will be a Concert – commemorative event for the anniversary of the Polytechnic with the “Mikis Theodorakis” Folk Orchestra.
His most beautiful revolutionary songs will be heard at the concert Miki Theodorakisfolk, zeibeki, but also lyrical, melancholic exquisite melodies of the composer with their performers Gerasimos Andreato, Sofia Papazoglou and Panagiotis Petraki under the artistic direction of Margaritas – Aspasias Theodorakis

The Saturday 16 November at 8.30 in the evening, the Dance Department of the Municipality of Patras faithful to the principles of amateur creation and on the occasion of the celebration of the Polytechnic uprising, to present the music and dance performance “November 17, 1973 – 2024”, showing through the eyes of the young children who frame his adolescent, pre-adolescent and children sections, the faces of fascism and how they appear in today’s social reality.
The show will take place on courtyard of the Dance Hall in the port (in case of bad weather conditions the event will take place inside the hall).
The members of the dance team and its orchestra will present a tribute to the Polytechnic through the poetry of Varnalis. Sound, image, poetry combined with choreographies performed by teenagers along with music and songs of anti-fascist content played by the orchestra, literary texts – poems by Kostas Varnalis given by members, friends and collaborators of the dance group as well as characteristic images from material with corresponding content they will dominate.
Entrance is free. For admission to the film that will be screened at the “Pantheon” and the concert of the “Miki Theodorakis” Orchestra at the Convention Center, a reservation is required through the ticketservises.gr platform
