In the midst of this, another person died and two were injured at a construction site in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi-do.

A new construction site for a logistics center where exterior wall construction is in progress.
Piles of reinforcing bars that should be attached to the wall are sitting bent.
Around 8:00 am today, a report was received that “a pile of rebar fell and hit one worker.”
The victim, a worker in his 60s who served as a signalman, was taken to the hospital in a state of cardiac arrest, but eventually died.
At the time, the crane was moving the stairs for work at the site, and it was investigated that the pile of rebar collapsed while touching the outer wall structure.
Two male workers from the subcontractor were also injured, and the police believe they were on the scaffolding stairs at the time.

“It is presumed that the signalman gave a signal from below, and the rest of the people went up on the (scaffolding) and worked on tying the reinforcing bars, but they fell and did it.”
The police are investigating the exact circumstances of the accident, including the process of moving the scaffolding stairs once morest the site manager and crane operator.
The construction site of the logistics center where the accident occurred is subject to the Severe Accident Punishment Act as the construction cost exceeds 5 billion won.
The Ministry of Employment and Labor issued an order to stop work immediately following the accident and began to identify the circumstances of the accident.

“First of all, I’m going to look at the overall (safety management) contents, and since this is a workplace that applies the Severe Accident Act…”
The company in charge of the construction is where a serious disaster occurred in February of last year in Seongnam, Gyeonggi-do, where two people died in a fall accident.
