These funds are planned to be provided in the process of developing the draft law on the budget for 2025 and the budget framework for 2025-2027, with EUR 29.188 million planned to be allocated in 2025 and EUR 6.884 million in 2026, provided that the Riga City Council repays previously received loans in at least the specified amounts in 2025 and 2026.
In November 2022, the government already approved a loan of 23.596 million euros for the construction of the overpass, and in January 2023, financing in the amount of 23 million euros for the implementation of the project in 2024 was planned within the framework of the budget program of the Ministry of Transport.
Thus, following the approval of the ministry’s report, the Riga Municipality will have to make a decision on the implementation of the project in the amount of 82.667 million euros, taking into account financing from the state budget in the amount of 23 million euros and loans in the total amount of 59.667 million euros.
As Riga Mayor Vilnis Ķirsis reported at a press conference on Wednesday, the city council has already signed an agreement with the association of construction companies “RK link” on the construction of the overpass from Tvaika Street to Kundzinsalu Street. A person responsible for construction supervision has been selected for the facility and the author’s supervision procedure is being assessed.
