Rieupeyroux. The documentary-fiction “Casting” screened Monday at the Cultural Center

Frédéric Blaimont and the team of the ASV Cultural Center invite you to the Espace Gilbert Alauzet for the closing of the exhibition “I find you very beautiful” on Monday June 13 at 6:30 p.m., the opportunity to discover together the movie “Casting” on the big screen.

Synopsis. Les Landes, February 2021: the phone rings in the living room of painter Frédéric Blaimont. An American leaves a message: thrilled by Frédéric’s paintings, he offers him an exhibition in his gallery in New York. Frédéric is absent, but, in a corner of the room, two characters have heard everything. They are quite old, hardly understand the American, have the face and the silhouette of ordinary people, those whom one crosses every day without really looking at them. They seem so alive that you can almost hear them breathing. But they are in a wooden frame on a yellow background. They are hand painted by Frédéric. This exhibition in New York transports them with joy. It’s high time to speak up! So they will rush to spread the news. Through the house, the studio, from painting to painting… Everyone is jubilant, racing, fantasizing, from the austere businessman to the vacationer slumped on the sand. But the American adventure has a price: only 20 will have the chance to be selected and cross the ocean. So, it’s time to get organized and take charge! Time to learn the language, to go on a diet, to revitalize… Because the cast will be ruthless…

This fictional documentary, written and directed by Valère Trocquenet and Florence Fert, produced by “Rêvons c’est l’heure”, received the Grand Prix at Mifac 2021.

The exhibition is open until June 13. Weekdays from 9 a.m. to noon and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. or by appointment and before each cinema screening
