Ried still has a score to settle with Sturm Graz

In the last round of the basic round, Gregory Wüthrich scored the goal to make it 2:2 in the 87th minute – he shot Ried out of the master group. Until the last lap, the Innviertler then had to tremble for relegation. The performance at that time gives Ried playmaker Stefan Nutz confidence for the first duel of the new season: “We showed that we can beat them.” In the 2:1 in the round of 16 of the cup last October, that was even achieved away from home.

Storm committed attackers

There was no radio silence between Ried’s sporting director Thomas Reicheltshammer and his Graz colleague Andreas Schicker, despite the upcoming meeting. Both have been friends since they were active together in Ried. Schicker completed a transfer worth millions yesterday: The 19-year-old Dutch striker Emanuel Emegha comes from Antwerp and signed until the summer of 2026. Reifeltshammer has to find a midfielder in a different price segment. “Quality comes first. We know it’s a risk, but we don’t want to rush things.”
