Jakarta Election Results Spark Walkout as Losing Team Alleges Irregularities
Tension flared during the vote counting plenary meeting of the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada as the losing candidate pair, Ridwan Kamil and Suswono (RK), walked out amidst accusations of election irregularities.
The RK team, represented by their attorney, Ramdan Alamsyah, expressed their dissatisfaction with the results, demanding a repeat voting (PSU) in Pinang Ranti, East Jakarta.
"We see that there are deliberate elements to prevent the PSU from happening, especially individuals that we have also reported to the DKPP," Ramdan asserted at the Sari Pacific Hotel in Jakarta on Sunday, December 8, 2024.
