Hollywood star Richard Gere (73, “Pretty Woman”) mourns his father.
As the family announced on Sunday (local time), Homer Gere died on March 1 at the age of 100 in North Salem (US state of New York). Richard Geres (73) wife Alejandra (40) paid tribute to her father-in-law’s life in one Instagram-Post.
There she wrote on behalf of the family: “Until his retirement at the age of 65, Gere was a successful insurance salesman. Known in the community as a gifted entrepreneur, he was recognized for his work as a Meals on Wheels volunteer. As a supporter of this charitable organization, he has appeared in national commercials alongside his son.”
In the second part of her post, Alejandra Gere writes regarding Homer: “He accepted life with love, kindness, openness and curiosity. He will be remembered for his joyful embrace of life and for making so many friends. To his family and friends, he remains an amazing and beloved soul, always reminding us to love tight and sing out loud.”
The family will celebrate life in honor of Homer in May.
Just a few weeks ago, there was concern regarding Richard Gere himself: During a vacation in Mexico with his wife (celebrated her 40th birthday) and their two sons, the actor became one hospitalized for pneumonia.
