Ricardo the Free-Roaming Ox: Penn Station New Jersey Incident Captured on Social Media

2023-12-14 22:44:13

A young, free-roaming ox was caught wandering on the railroad tracks at Penn Station in Newark, New Jersey, Thursday morning.

The event brought together many passengers who did not hesitate to document the event on social networks, reported the local ABC station.

“I looked out the window and there he was, just trotting along the tracks,” Jason Monticelli said. I thought maybe it was a Red Bulls strategy or something, since the stadium is right there, but yeah, he was just trotting. We were just trying to understand where he was coming from.”

The animal was tranquilized and safely captured and no one was injured. The ox, now known as Ricardo, was taken into the care of an animal rescue association.

We still don’t know how the horned animal got there.

The incident still caused a 45-minute slowdown between the Newark station and the New York station, due to police intervention.
